We continue to have issues with Ryland/Calatlantic Homes. Please reconsider other builders. We continue to have quality issues ( been in house for about 10 months). Plus, the warranty dept will not help with any construction issues ( yes, we still have construction issues). They will continue to do a little as possible and apply band aids where they feel to keep you quiet long enough so that the initial year runs up etc. Just when you think you are getting somewhere, they will halt your request because it cost too much to make it right.
Please I implore you to find a company that has integrity and a desire to put quality at the forefront of home building. My family and I truly believe that this is a beautiful community, but the stress and hassle of trying to get the home we contractually purchased is a daily struggle. YES, a daily struggle.
I would encourage anyone looking to buy in this area, to knock on doors, ask people in the neighborhood about their building & warranty experience. I believe you will be surprised to hear the continued concerns of the unsuspecting home owners.
Also, if you think asking a boss or executive will get you anywhere, you would be mistaken. I have been mistaken about this for about a year. They do not try to re-direct or train on any issues we have brought up. Below is an overview of a few big ticket items of aggravation still to this very day.
- Driveway is NOT functional to park 2 cars side by side ( should be a given for family home, but is not in this community- look for yourself).
- Watered down paint- coming off or fading- less and 1 yr old house- they won't repaint
- Drainage- yes, ponds/huge puddles with standing water and mosquitoes ( Zika or West Nile anyone?). Don't worry they will dig up your yard and make it not functional for weeks so you kids cannot use. Then when it is not right again, you will have to argue about it and send pictures- once approved, they will dig up your yard again and it won't be functional. Then the whole process starts over and over. Yes, over and over!
I will not bore you with the cracked tubs, tile and grout. Poor quality of baseboards, carpet installation and wrong placement of drop down to attic. Scratches and broken cabinets. The vanity tops with huge divets and scratches. I also will not share the sod being thrown on water puddles and muddy footprints to allow bumps so that my kids trip in the back yard (which they dug up a few times- from the top of the review due to drainage).
If this is not enough, once they do get it right and you have taken all this time out of your schedule, it's almost expected that a trade who was in your home will leave the area trashed or damaged. Yes, you heard it right. You then have to have another trade come out and repair what ever is wrong and hope that trade doesn't damage anything- so on & so on.
This is just a little bit of what we have been through, feel free to PM if you need any clarity.
As for the admin watching this social media site, unless you can take care of the issues and making the wrongs "right" via the President in California's office approval and written guarantee no need to respond.
Thanks! -
